Manga Nihonjin to Tennō

Manga · 2000

Manga Nihonjin to Tennō is a Japanese manga written by Tetsu Kariya and drawn by Sugar Satō, serialized in the weekly Kinyōbi from 1998 to 2000 under the title Nihonjin to Tennō. The magazine run was manga only, but the book edition added commentary by Kariya. Isop-sha published it in December 2000, Kodansha released a paperback in April 2003, and a Korean edition followed in September 2007. It has been called 'the most radical and controversial work in Japanese manga history'. A new expanded edition was released by Isop-sha in April 2019 to coincide with the imperial succession.
