Historical
Tenji to Tenmu: Shinsetsu Nihon Shoki is a Japanese historical manga by Mariko Nakamura, with concept supervision by Masahiro Sonomura, serialized in Big Comic (Shogakukan) from issue 17 of 2012 (August 25) to issue 15 of 2016 (July 25). It depicts the love and hatred between Prince Naka no Ōe (Emperor Tenji) and Prince Ōama (Emperor Tenmu). As its 'new theory' subtitle suggests, it departs from conventional history, making Soga no Iruka Prince Ōama's father and Nakatomi no Kamatari the Baekje prince Buyeo Pung, and unusually for Big Comic, it takes boys' love as a central theme.
